A project about the encounter. A space for dialogue with the other, with others, without cultural borders of language or history. A space to talk about memory. About utopias. About the future to be built from the new. A common future.
The meeting takes place between people who have moved around the world, emigrants, refugees who left in search of a new home. In addition to immigrants, a local actor also participates in the show. The memory of those who come from outside and the memory of those from the city are added.
Inside a container, a live documentary about the encounter between immigrants and the actor is filmed, edited and projected every day in the presence of the public. The film is made live, sharing ideas and stories, which are stimulated through questions asked by Christiane Jatahy.
The audience sits on either side of the container and watches the film. At a given moment, the screens go up and there is no longer any separation, no boundaries, between those who watch and those who tell. The meeting is complete: from the public to the guests, from the performance to the cinema.
The public is asked to bring objects to compose this house under construction. And it is these objects brought by the spectators that give the film its color and details. For immigrants interested in participating, we ask that you send a letter or a recording briefly answering the following questions:
- Tell us a little about yourself and your story.
- Describe your home now and the home you lived in before you got here.
- What is your utopia?
- Tell a dream you have been waking up to.
- Tell about a dream you had while you were sleeping.
